First Weeks: Orientation Follow-Up, Bus, Dismissal & Getting Involved

Published August 26, 2026

Dear APA Eagle Mountain Families,

Parents attending Parent Orientation at APA Eagle Mountain — classroom sessions and a full-room presentation.

Thank you for a strong start to the new year. Our students have settled into routines quickly, and we appreciate the support families have given us as we open a new campus. Thank you for trusting us with your kids.

Here’s your quick-reference guide to some of our most frequently asked questions.

Parent Orientation

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Parent Orientation. If you weren’t able to attend, please reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher to schedule a short meeting to cover what you missed. This is an important meeting to ensure your student succeeds throughout the year.

Dismissal Times

Day Dismissal
Monday, Tuesday, Friday 3:25 PM
Wednesday, Thursday 2:25 PM

Reminders from the front office: If you plan to check your student out early, please communicate any dismissal changes to your student and their teacher before the school day begins, and plan early check-outs for at least 15 minutes before dismissal starts. If you’re dropping off after 8:15 AM, please walk your student in and sign in at the front office.

Bus Stops & Times

Four stops, four colors. Times below reflect both dismissal schedules.

Afternoons: The listed times are the earliest arrival times — please be at the stop no later than the posted time.

At Lakeview Estates: Pick-up and drop-off are by the pavilion. Please park on the side of the street closest to the park so the bus isn’t boxed in on both sides.

Skyward & ALMA

If you haven’t finished your Skyward registration, please complete it as soon as possible — it’s where enrollment and handbook acknowledgments live.

ALMA is our online grading platform, available 24 hours a day. Families new to APA will receive an email with a link to set up a username and password. A physical copy of the Parent-Student Handbook is coming home with your student — you can also view the Eagle Mountain Parent-Student Handbook and Core Policy Manual online anytime.

Not receiving school emails? Contact ashupe@apamail.org so we can get your address recorded correctly.

Photos of Our Students

Three APA Eagle Mountain students in class — one raising her hand, one smiling at her desk, and one working with a paper on his desk.

Our social media has been busy showing off this campus — students reading, building, laughing, and settling into their classrooms. Those photos are one of the best tools a brand-new school has for introducing itself to the community.

Photo permissions are handled through the media release on your registration forms. If you selected an opt-out at registration, please follow up in writing with our administration within 10 days to confirm it. And if you change your mind at any point during the year, you can opt out at any time by emailing Amber Shupe at ashupe@apamail.org.

Getting Involved — We’d Love Your Help

There’s a place for every kind of family here — in the classroom, at events, on committees, or helping from home. Our full guide to volunteering covers all of it, including what it means to be a Founding Family this first year: Getting Involved at APA Eagle Mountain.

One role we’re still filling: every class needs an Academic Support Team leader — a parent who helps the homeroom teacher stay ahead of the small things that add up. Recruiting classroom volunteers, correcting papers from home, lining up chaperones for field trips, and culminating activities. About 30–60 minutes a month, most of it on your own schedule.

Interested? Contact Amber Shupe, Administrative Director.

Spread the Word

We still have open seats in every grade, but with another handful of students between 2nd and 3rd grade, we can split those classes and give every student a remarkably small class size.

APA Eagle Mountain is tuition-free, open enrollment, and serves K–6 families across Cedar Fort, Eagle Mountain, White Hills, and Firefly. If you know a family considering a change, send them our way — or invite them to one of our weekly meetings below.
