Freedom Forum

Cultivating Responsible Citizens Through Real-World Perspectives on Freedom, Agency, and Constitutional Principles

Welcome to
Freedom Forum

The Freedom Forum is a new initiative by American Preparatory Academy, designed to inspire and empower students regarding the miraculous structure of the United States that affords them the opportunity to pursue happiness and success more than any other time or location in history. They will come to understand their privilege and responsibility to exercise their agency toward a meaningful and productive life through our hosting dynamic speakers on topics like free markets, constitutional freedoms, democratic principles, the rule of law, and patriotic civic engagement.

Our mission is simple yet vital: to bring compelling voices—dissidents, economists, legal scholars, civic leaders, authors, and entrepreneurs—into our schools to cultivate knowledge, curiosity, and a deeper appreciation for the American ideals and to inspire students to take full advantage of the education at American Prep and to go forth to change the world for the better.

Why This Matters

In an age of rapid change and complex challenges, it’s more important than ever for young people to understand not just how our freedoms shape our daily lives, but why they matter. By bridging the classroom with real-world perspectives, Freedom Forum creates rich opportunities for students to:

Understand their access to freedom in America — that all students benefit from the structure of our government and free market, that the American dream is accessible to all. An emphasis will be placed on the way our individual decisions and actions impact our personal freedoms within a free nation.

Explore what makes American democracy thrive — from the importance of the Constitution to the value of free speech, free enterprise, and the rule of law. Speakers will highlight the unique aspects of freedom in our founding documents and how the United States has been a beacon of freedom since its inception.

Engage with thinkers who bring history and philosophy to life, making civic ideals tangible and relevant. Many speakers will come from nations that do not provide their citizens with the freedoms they have found in the United States.

Build critical thinking, media literacy, and respectful civic discourse—skills essential to participating in our democracy as informed, active citizens. Students will understand that some in our nation advocate for policies or government actions that took other nations into socialism and eventually tyrannical chaos. Speakers will share how some of these very policies destroyed their own nations and how and why we must reject them.

Fuel inspiration and ambition—hearing from individuals who have turned ideals into action, whether in public service, business, law, or education. Students will develop a desire to take full advantage of the ability to exercise their own agency to the greatest extent secured for people in history and how this privilege is also a responsibility.

What to Expect

Each year, Freedom Forum will host a series of in-person speaker events focused primarily on secondary age students. These sessions might include keynote talks in a large assembly setting with student Q&A portions, moderated panels, and follow-up classroom activities—all aligned with our academic and civic curriculum. This year we hope to expand the events to offer evening sessions for parents and community members to participate in.

With the support of parents, teachers, and community partners, Freedom Forum aims to become a signature district program—one that not only informs but energizes students to appreciate, participate in, and uphold the freedoms that define our nation.

Whether you’re a student curious about civic life, a parent seeking meaningful learning opportunities, or a community member interested in supporting educational innovation—Freedom Forum invites you to join us in championing the power of freedom.
