Uniforms, Conduct & Daily Routines at American Prep

Published August 12th, 2026

APA Eagle Mountain Families,

Every day, your child gets to walk in looking sharp, feeling confident, and ready to shine — right alongside their classmates.

Understanding expectations in class and on campus helps everyone create and maintain a safe environment that nurtures learning.

Uniforms

The magic of a uniform—it lets kids focus on what really matters: learning, friendships, and participating in a safe environment. Uniforms at APA do more than create a consistent look. They reduce social comparison, simplify mornings, and create a shared sense of belonging. Families who’ve been at APA for a few years consistently tell us the uniform is one of the things they’re most grateful for!

Eagle Mountain families note: At a new campus it is sometimes a challenge for parents to get the full uniform prior to the beginning of school. Therefore, we are implementing a different uniform requirement for the first term — Polo Friday dress may be worn any day up until October 9th (the end of Term 1).

A few practical uniform tips for new families:

  • Order early — sizes sell out, especially in late summer
  • Label everything with your student’s name
  • Black shoes are required — shoes should be solid black, including laces and sole, no colors even in a logo. They don’t need to be dress shoes, just solid black.
  • Keep a spare shirt in the backpack for younger students — accidents happen

The Code of Conduct — Character Is the Curriculum

APA’s behavioral expectations aren’t just rules — they’re an extension of our character development program. We believe that learning to show up with positivity, effort, and respect for others is as important as any academic subject.

Our Code of Conduct covers expectations for student behavior, classroom standards, consequences for infractions, and the process for addressing issues. We strongly encourage every family to read it before school begins — families who understand the “why” behind our policies are far better equipped to reinforce them at home.

A direct link to the Eagle Mountain Parent-Student Handbook will be added here once it’s finalized. In the meantime, families can reference the general Parent-Student Handbooks page.

Values APA reinforces every day:

  • Positivity
  • Effort
  • Excellence
  • Commitment to caring for others

These aren’t posters on the wall — they’re practiced daily through classroom culture, Ambassador Program participation, and the way students and staff interact with each other.
